The village with streets covered by the sand that comes from the dunes in front of the sea… the long thin sand beaches with coconut trees… the lagoons created by the rain water among the dunes….

Paradise? Yes… called by locals, Jeri.

You have to be prepared to be in a pretty exotic place!

The trip to Jeri represents a natural obstacle but it is part of the show. The road from Fortaleza to Jericoacoara presents beautiful beaches and rustic villages. The last 45 minutes you complete off-road "on-sand", among dunes and along a beach. It is one of most beautiful journeys of Brazil. After arriving you find several different sceneries, altogether in a very beautiful and harmonic combination.

Day 01. Fortaleza. Arrival in Fortaleza. Reception and transfer to the chosen hotel. Night in Fortaleza. We recommend having dinner at the "Drago do Mar" square, with charming atmosphere and good restaurants and bars.

Day 02. Fortaleza - Jericoacoara. Say goodbye to civilization! Morning transfer to Jericoacoara through asphalted road. Arrival and accommodation. Afterwards, we will walk through the Rocky Region of Jericoacoara and the Malhada beach to Pedra Furada. It is a big gate of stone sculpted by the waves and the wind. Between July 15th and August 15th the sun sets exactly in the middle of the hole, creating a wonderful spectacle. On the way back, we climb Morro do Serrote to enjoy a 360° view of Jericoacoara. Return and free evening to enjoy the village. (B)

Day 03. Jericoacoara - Blue Lagoon & Paradise Lagoon. Today we visit the astonishing Blue Lagoon and Paradise Lagoon. Created by the rainwater, these pools reflect the eternal sunlight of region what giving them a deep blue color. Perfect place for bathing and relaxing. There we have lunch (not included). Return to Jeri where we have the opportunity to see one of the most beautiful nature spectacles in Brazil: the sunset over the big Sunset Dune, one of the highest in the region and certainly the most beautiful. Only here it is possible to see both sunrise and sunset in the sea. Everyday, at sunset, people returning from the tours climb the dune to watch the sun going down on the sea, considered the most beautiful sunset in Brazil. At the end of this spectacle, you can try the "ski-bund" (literally "ass-skiing") running down the dune, seated onto particularly shaped tables. Also you can see traditional fighters practicing Capoeira - African Brazilian dance at the base of the dune. Free evening. (B)

Day 04. Jericoacoara - Tatajuba tour on Buggy. Tatajuba is small fishing village 33 km west of Jeri. The trip to get there is an authentic rally between dunes, beaches, mangroves and lagoons. Tatajuba may represent what was Jeri twenty years ago. Passing through a little river where it is necessary to put the buggy onto a raft made of wood. We stop to rest and swim in warm waters of the Tatajuba Lagoon, created by the water of the rain, among the dunes. We continue our trip through the ruins of old Tatajuba, a fishermen village, until we reach Lagoon da Torta surrounded by white sand. Wide range of restaurants to choose. Return and free evening to enjoy your Jeri. (B)

Day 05. Jericoacoara - Fortaleza. Free morning for enjoyment of the marvelous sea of Jericoacoara. Wake up early, enjoy the sunrise and the beach, and fill up on a great breakfast at the hotel. Time to go back to town! After lunch we return to Fortaleza via an asphalted road. Arriving around 6PM check in to your hotel. There's time to freshen up and perhaps then visit the Handicraft Market that takes place every evening along the beach front. End the night with a fabulous seafood meal at one of Fortaleza's great local restaurants. (B)

Day 06. Fortaleza. Now here is the big decision: Go home… or stay on? If you must return home, then enjoy the morning in Fortaleza… later in the afternoon check out and be transferred to the airport for your return flight to HOME.

On the other hand, if you decide to stay on, that's great, and there is a lot to choose from. Our recommend extension is a 3 night package to the beach hideaway on the OTHER Side of Fortaleza - Canoa Quebrada. It's a laid back little village as well, with towering dunes and a great night scene. It would be a shame not to visit, you are so close…. (B)
